OVERVIEW OF TEMPLE :

Arulmigu loganayagi sri angalaparameshwari dhyana peedam is a famous hindu temple of lord Durga. It is located in Kummaragunta (village) of Ponnai (Post) in Vellore district of Tamil nadu. It is located on the way of Sholingur to chittor road and before to the ponnai town. The temple is built in the way that all the 108 forms (or) avathar of lord durga can be seen at one place and there one most attraction of temple is also large durga Statue of nearly 30 feets as it is coming out from pambu(snake) putta. And inside the temple of main idol there are beautiful wall structure designs of different incariations of lord ganeshaon the right side and six abodes( aru padai veedu) of lord murugan on the left side of wall.

FAMOUS ABOUT TEMPLE FESTIVALS :

Amavasya day is famous in these temple.on the day of amavasaya there is huge crowd of devotees take the darshan of lord angalaparameshwari darshan. And on the morning of amavasya there are special pooja of homam and conducting special prayers on that day. And in evening there is special decoration to the lord and different sevas like unjal seva of durgai amman and celestial ride of durgai amman in streets of the village. And annadanam is conducted and hundreds of people are served with the paradhsam by devasthanam.

TO REMOVE DRISTHI DOSHAM ON DAY OF AMAVASYA :

On the day of Amavsya there are large number of people taking drishti as it is believed that taking dristhi on the day of amavasya removes all the dristhi dosham and all the negative energy in the person.

PROCEDURE TO TAKE DRISTHI :

In the temple there is person who helps us in taking dristhi (pojjari) he takes the lemon and turn around the person who want take dristhi and he tells that person to step the lemon by their leg and its believed that in that way dristhi is removed. And all the things required for pooja are sold in the temple premisis itself.

The nearest major railway station is Katpadi junction. And nearest Major places are chittoor, vellore. From chittoor temple is located at 24 kms in the route of chittoor to Thiruthani. And nearly 28 kms from sholingur in the way to chittoor. And it takes 32kms from vellore bus stand.
