To my knowledge there are 5 gods who can help you against evil spirits
1. Lord Hanuman :
Lord Hanuman is definitely the first choice.
He is the most feared by all ghosts and evil spirits. simple recitation of Hanuman Chalisa is enough to drive away all evil spirits in few seconds. Reciting Hanuman Chalisa doesnt need any initiation or Guru Upadesha. Or you could just chant Rama Nama which is enough to get Hanuman Ji’s protection.
2.Lord Siva :
Who better else to worship than the king of all spirits, Bhoothnatha himself?
A simple command from him is enough for any spirit to leave your household. If you are worshipping Tantrik deities like Kala Bhairava then initiation is required however if you are worshipping Mahadev in form of Linga or simple portrait then just chanting Om Namah Shivaya will do the job easily.
3. Shri Narasimha:
He is primarily worshipped to destroy black magic. I would suggest to not worship Ugra Roopa if you are not initiated. However you can worship Lakshmi Narasimha form without any initiation. For this purpose best Mantra is Narasimha Kavacham. Lyrics can be found easily on google.
4.Shri MahaLakshmi :
No evil spirit can tolerate her pure radiance. You can chant Mahalakshmi Ashtakam for the same. No initiation is required. This has been stated in Mahalakshmi Ashtakam that wicked souls are frightened of her in verse.
5.Mahakali/Bhadrakali/ Bhairavi -
These are tantric goddesses and will require initiation. Do not worship these goddesses without knowing what you are doing.
